I began my career as a photographer, over 30 years ago, with a degree in Commercial Photography from the Art Institute of Atlanta. Over the years, I photographed a diverse range of subjects ranging from portraits and events to architecture and product.
While I still maintain my career in photography as the owner of Light House Studio in Knoxville, TN, I have also grown into doing Internet marketing, website design and search engine optimization. It has been surprising to me how well the two “jobs” fit together. However, I never intended to get into the Internet world, but God had different ideas.
For many years I had felt a calling to do something with my photography that would serve God and others, as well. That is how Crosslight Photo Mission came to be. God led me to the idea and directed me to present the idea to two other photographer friends that I attend church with at Wallace Memorial in Knoxville.
Julie and Jon both felt it was a great idea and Crosslight was born. Since the beginning we have worked toward our main goal of providing portraits to underprivileged families and using our photography in the support of other ministries.
The team has now grown to include six photographers and more than a dozen volunteer team members. We all share the desire to serve God and others with this ministry. I am excited to see what the future holds as God leads us forward.
